Within the framework of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), companies are required not only to focus on product development and sales, but also to take responsibility for the collection, recycling, and disposal of their products. These requirements apply to electrical equipment, batteries, packaging, and other waste streams across all EU Member States and beyond.

As a rule, these obligations are managed collectively through national PROs (producer responsibility organizations). Producers are required to contribute financially and, in some cases, to provide their own take-back and disposal solutions.

Producers of electrical equipment in Germany face a specific regulatory situation. The registration authority stiftung ear determines, based on reported volumes, which producer is responsible for collecting a full container of waste electrical equipment from a municipal collection point. If you are assigned such a collection order, you are required to pick up the full container within four working days and ensure its proper disposal. We can take over this task for you.
