Danish producers must renew their registration via the new online system.
New reporting requirements and fees
In addition to the planned quantities for 2025 and 2026, information on the chemical composition of the batteries is also required during registration.
Obligation to participate in collective systems
For portable batteries and batteries for light means of transport, participation in a collective take-back system is mandatory.
Participation is voluntary for industrial, starter and electric vehicle batteries.
Conclusion
With the new regulation, Denmark is bringing its battery law into line with the EU Battery Regulation. The following now applies, especially for foreign producers: Anyone who sells batteries in Denmark must register in order to comply with the law and avoid sanctions.
