Waste streams in France are regulated by various laws and directives, including the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The French government has decided that a Unique Identification Number (UIN) will be assigned to each producer who places certain products on the market in France. The assigned number is issued for each waste stream that is subject to extended producer responsibility. There is one UIN per waste stream.
We have expanded our range of services and will be offering our customers in France (in addition to the tried-and-tested registration for electrical appliances, batteries and packaging materials) the registration of further UIN waste streams from 1 January 2024:
DIY and garden products
(e.g. lawnmowers, chainsaws, plant shredders, high-pressure cleaners, hand tools)
Graphic paper
(e.g. operating instructions, catalogues, advertising inserts, gift cards)
This expansion of our offering enables us to meet the increased requirements and standards in the area of waste disposal and to offer a comprehensive service for a wider range of materials.
