Amazon has announced in its Seller Forum that effective August 18, 2025, battery manufacturers will be required to provide a registration number to continue selling their products on the platform.
Who is Affected?
Manufacturers that distribute batteries within any EU member state must register with the appropriate authority in compliance with the EU Battery Regulation. The registration number for each member state must be submitted through Amazon's Compliance Portal, which is expected to be operational in the third or fourth quarter of this year.
Moreover, manufacturers are obligated to report their battery sales annually to the respective authorities and remit the required fees.
