International E-Waste Day on 14th October: #WEEEcleanup challenge
14 October is International E-Waste Day. The global day of action was launched by the WEEE Forum (International Association of Electronic Waste) to raise public awareness of e-recycling and how to deal with waste electrical equipment and the recyclables it contains. Take part in our #WEEEcleanupchallenge.
What's #ewasteday about?
The aim is to raise public awareness of e-recycling and how to deal with old electrical appliances and the recyclable materials they contain. Consumers are called upon to hand in their defective electrical appliances properly at the collection points.
To mark the day of action, we have re-launched our#WEEEcleanup challenge under the slogan "Give your electrical appliances a second life!". The challenge runs until 14 October - but is undoubtedly an ongoing theme.
Join in or initiate your own actions. Compliance schemes, collective systems, waste management companies, the manufacturing industry and trade are all called upon to make their contribution to the circular economy. Become part of the movement! All information about International E-Waste Day can be found on the website of the WEEE Forum.
