stiftung ear: New parameters for calculating financial guarantees from 2027
The amount of the financial guarantee required under the German ElektroG for B2C EEE will change from 1 January 2027.
On 1 September 2026, stiftung ear published the guarantee calculation parameters that will apply from 2027:
expected return rate in percent
expected disposal costs
The new parameters reflect the increase in disposal costs. For small equipment, small IT and telecommunications equipment, and gas discharge lamps, the relevant factors will increase by more than 40%. No increase is planned for photovoltaic panels or large equipment. Previous guarantee periods will remain unaffected.
For our customers, the process itself will not change: once you have submitted your planned quantities for 2027, we will calculate and issue the financial guarantee based on the new parameters and submit it to stiftung ear on your behalf.
