The Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste came into force on February 11, 2025, and will apply from August 12, 2026.

The PPWR transforms packaging law from a waste-based regulatory regime into a life cycle regulation. This adds numerous new requirements for packaging design, e.g., recyclability, minimization, and reuse requirements. EU-wide standardization of packaging labeling is also planned.

The seminar will provide you with an overview of all these topics, focusing on the provisions that will apply from August, e.g.:

• Role definition & delimitation
• Conformity assessment
• Current status of the German Packaging Act (VerpackDG) 

This seminar will give you an overview of the entire PPWR and its practical implications. The seminar will teach you the necessary basic structures and concepts of the PPWR so that you can correctly assign the new obligations. Existing legal uncertainties and the time dimension of the PPWR will be pointed out to you, which you should take into account in your implementation planning.
