Automated warranty calculation in the ear portal: What manufacturers need to know
As proof of the guarantee must be provided annually in accordance with Section 7 (1) sentence 1 of the ElektroG, manufacturers / authorised representatives who are already registered under the ElektroG are also obliged to submit proof of guarantee for their b2c appliance types for each calendar year.
From calendar year 2024, the annual creation of the warranty validity period in the ear portal will no longer be necessary.
The ear portal automatically calculates the required guarantee amounts based on the reported input quantities each month. These are deducted from the documented guarantee amount as "reserved guarantee consumption".
This ensures that only the quantities actually placed on the market are guaranteed and it is no longer necessary to correct the guarantee amounts at the end of a calendar year for a fee.
If your proven guarantee amount is no longer sufficient, measures must be taken.
