Change in parameters for guaranteed payments for 2021

As of 2021 the relevant parameters used to calculate guaranteed payments are changing. Existing guarantee periods will not be affected. The guatanteed payments are to finance the take-back and disposal. The stiftung ear pubslished new parameters on 1. September 2020:

• Expected rate of return as a percentage
• Expected costs of disposal
• Expected mean lifespan in months

This will have the following consequences for you:

The change in the parameters will alter the size of the payments that need to be guaranteed. With the heat exchangers for example nearly doubles the guaranteed payment and with the large equipment it rises around more than the 6-fold. On the other hand, the guarantee amount for small equipment and small ITC equipment is greatly reduced - by half or one third.

We will automatically issue your guarantee documentation in line with the new method of calculation. For those customers who have booked our weee full-service and our reporting service, we will deposit the guaranteed payment for you as usual.
