The new Packaging Act was yesterday published in the Federal Law Gazette. The (full) Packaging Act will come into force on 1 January 2019, replacing the Packaging Ordinance (VerpackV). The regulations on setting up a clearing house (§ 24 VerpackG) and the transitional provisions of § 35 VerpackG are already coming into force today (Art. 3 Abs. 2).
The “Stiftung Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister” has been set up to implement the Packaging Act (VerpackG). The following page has a video (in German) explaining the responsibilities of the “Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister” (engl. Foundation Central Packaging Register).
