Extended Producer Responsibility in Denmark: Important Dates for 2025
In 2025, Denmark will introduce three new Extended Producer Responsibilities (EPR):

Here are the key details and deadlines companies need to be aware of:
Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging

January 14, 2025: Companies subject to the EPR for packaging must be registerd by this date and sign a contract with a recognized organization (e.g., a Producer Responsibility Organization, PRO).

June 1st, 2025: The actual amounts of packaging your company placed on the Danish market in 2024 must be reported by this date. More details about the reporting process will follow.

October 1st, 2025: The Extended Producer Responsibility for Packaging officially takes effect.
Specific requirements for reusable packaging:

January 1st, 2025: Registration opened for companies placing reusable packaging on the market.

February 1st, 2025: By this date, companies placing reusable packaging on the market must report the expected amounts of reusable packaging they plan to introduce in 2025.
Extended Producer Responsibility for Single-Use Plastic Products

January 1st, 2025: The Extended Producer Responsibility for Single-Use.Plastic Products takes effect.

April 1st–10th, 2025: First reporting period of the amount of single-use plastic products sold in the previous quarter.

Quarterly reports: Following the initial report in April 2025, subsequent reports must be submitted quarterly between the 1st and 10th April, July, October and January.
Extended Producer Responsibility for Fishing Gear

January 1st, 2025: The Extended Producer Responsibility for fishing gear takes effect.

April 1st, 2025: First report of the quantities placed on the market in 2024. From this point onward, annual reports are required each year by April 1.
